Alan McCoy

Alan has been a lifelong educator: his tenure at Pingree include teaching history, coaching, as well as serving as Director of Athletics for over twenty years, retiring from that position in 2017. His role for the past two years has been the school’s Sustainability Coordinator where he has had the wonderful opportunity to work with students and colleagues to lead the charge to make Pingree a greener place. He is originally from coal country of southern West Virginia were he has seen first hand the challenges that coal mining has brought to Appalachia and the people who live there. Alan went to school in Baltimore and then attended McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. He and his wife Tina have always been interested in and committed to being good stewards of the environment. He lives in Essex.
