Karie is a Nationally Certified Health Education Specialist in Upstate NY. In her home state of NH, she received a degree in Public Health Promotion from SNHU. Her prior administrative experience and studies in holistic wellness gave rise to her passion for environmental sustainability as a key aspect of public health. She is grateful to intern with Seaside, supporting educational efforts on the reliant responsibilities we share with ecosystems while gaining professional experience in advocacy.
A returning Seaside intern, Margot is from Ipswich, MA. She is taking a gap year to further her environmental endeavors and will attend Skidmore College as a freshman in the fall of 2021 where she hopes to major in Environmental Studies. Margot is passionate about the importance of student leadership and sustainable education; she is hoping to work with Seaside to increase environmental discussion in schools.ur image
Jenna is a sophomore at Dartmouth College, double majoring in Earth Sciences and Quantitative Social Sciences. She is originally from the coastal town of Hampton, NH which sparked her lifelong love for the ocean and marine ecosystems. Jenna worked as a camp counselor for a nature-based camp, which inspired her to pursue environmental education further as a Seaside Intern.
Jacob is from Memphis, TN, and went to school at Harvard University, where he studied Government (Undergraduate) and Education (Master's). He currently attends Oxford University, studying Sustainable Urban Development. Previously, he has volunteered at PBHA at Harvard in programs with an emphasis on environmental sustainability. He is eager to work at Seaside to gain more experience on how he can best be a catalyst for change in this field for lower class, black Americans like himself.
Julia Lewis is from Beverly, MA, and is a senior at Suffolk University majoring in Politics, Philosophy, & Economics with a minor in Env. Studies. She is a writing tutor, a member of the debate club, and loves to spend her time outdoors and near the ocean. She is passionate about making sustainable practices accessible to individuals, businesses, and schools. As an intern, she looks forward to collaborating with others on important projects and applying her skills to Seaside’s mission.
Michael is from West Palm Beach, Florida and currently studying as a Business Management major at Florida International University in Miami. Through his involvement with the Everglades Coalition, Michael learned of the importance of environmental protections and the growing need for more sustainable communities. At Seaside Sustainability, he hopes to contribute to the incredible strides the organization has already made for our environment.
Maria is a recent graduate from Rosemont College with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and minors in Political Science and International Relations. Growing up, she spent many of her summers at NJ beaches, where she developed a deep love and appreciation for the ocean. In choosing to work for Seaside, she hopes to gain a foothold in the environmental nonprofit field and assist in spreading awareness of conservation issues and furthering education of the subject through Seaside's many projects.
Alex Aponte is from New Britain, Connecticut and is currently a sophomore at Southern New Hampshire State University studying Environmental Science. He currently works for a nonprofit biomedical research institution. Alex’s interest in learning more about the development of practical hands-on solutions to support sustainability is what has led him to interning with Seaside Sustainability. In his free time Alex enjoys baking, fly fishing, and lifting weights.
Elise Bautista is a junior at Salve Regina University, majoring in Marketing. She has developed powerful skills through creative interests and hobbies that can have a positive impact on our wildlife and environmental initiatives. She hopes to promote companies’ environmental agendas through the utilization of her artistic abilities. She wanted to work at Seaside because she believes they will help her to learn more about who she is as an artist and as an advocate for the environment.
Seryna is a rising senior at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. She is an Environmental Studies major and participates in her school's Eco-Action club and is a research assistant at the Tower Hill Botanical Garden. She has taken an interest in marine biology, geographic information systems, and agricultural sustainability. She has a passion for educating others on the ethical and justice issues that arise from the current climate crisis, specifically in terms of the world's oceans.
Jordan is a Hudson, OH local and a junior at the Univeristy of Michigan studying Environmental Policy and Sustainable Business. Growing up near the Great Lakes, she has always been passionate about water conservation and hopes to apply her skills at Seaside to further the education of and engagement with ocean sustainability. Overall, Jordan’s goal is to help businesses and communities become more sustainable by transforming policies related to energy, transportation, and agriculture.

Max is a graduate student from Boston studying at the University of Miami. He graduated with a B.A. in Marine Affairs from UMiami in the Spring of 2020. Max is a certified PADI Divemaster who has always had a deep connection with our oceans and has felt the need to give back. Max worked for an environmental consulting firm and oversaw the field implementation of a seagrass restoration mitigation plan and he looks forward to bringing his classroom and field knowledge to Seaside to make an impact.
Anna de Hostos
Ann is originally from San Francisco, CA and is studying Environmental Science and Global Health at Yale University. Growing up by the bay and spending a lot of time on the island of Puerto Rico, where her family is from, has given her a huge appreciation for the ocean. She loves to explore marine ecosystems and hopes to follow her passion to a career in environmental health where she can study the intersection between our changing ecosystems and global health.
Sean is a senior at American University pursuing a degree in Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics and Government, with a minor in Spanish Language. In his free time, Sean prefers to read horror novels, watch baseball and spend time outside with his two dogs. Sean is interested in a career in public administration and chose to work with Seaside to gain insight into the operations and strategy of advocacy groups in the legislative process, while working towards a more sustainable world.
Madison Collins, a Hingham, Massachusetts local recently graduated from Skidmore College studying Environmental Studies and Biology. Previously she worked at the New England Aquarium, and was compelled to work at Seaside Sustainability to gain more experience in ocean sustainability, and community engagement. She loves everything water in the ocean related, and is an avid athlete. In her free time catch her swimming, running, and hiking.
Madison is from Rochester and a senior at Syracuse University pursuing a double major in Geography and ESP (Environment, Sustainability, and Policy). She is passionate about finding ways to live a more sustainable lifestyle and educating others about the importance and urgency of environmental change. She joined Seaside for the opportunity to apply her knowledge and skills within a real world setting while also making meaningful connections with others as passionate about the planet as she is.
Rochelle is originally from San Diego, CA and is finishing up her last semester at San Diego State University with a Bachelor's degree in Sustainability. Growing up next to the ocean, she has seen the changes occur within her local waterways in real time. Rochelle was inspired to join Seaside not only because of these unfortunate changes that are negatively affecting humans and marine wildlife, but to also help take her passion for sustainability and funnel it into a fruitful career.
Saskia was born in England, but has lived in SE Michigan most of her life. She recently graduated from UMichigan with a B.A. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. She’s been working as an Open Water Scuba Instructor since October, bringing an environmental lens to that world. While at Michigan, she worked as a sustainability intern within the University's dining program. She chose to work for Seaside to focus on environmental education and foster a sense of community for lasting change.
Kristina is from Leesburg, VA and is a senior studying Environmental Science at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD. She is passionate about sustainability and helping others develop a relationship with the natural world. She enjoys reading, writing, going for hikes, and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to work on the Legislation and Green Scholars teams as she appreciates interdisciplinary approaches and wants to make a difference through policy and education.
Delia is from Dublin, Ohio and is studying Environmental Science and Sociology at Wheaton College, MA. She is excited about all things sustainability but is particularly interested in conservation science. She loves to talk about sustainable food systems, and she incorporate values of environmental justice into all of the work that she does. She is looking forward to collaborating with other interns and to share her knowledge of and passion for the Earth with the community.
Bradlie, from Phoenixville, PA, graduated from Boston College with a B.S. in Biology. She loves the outdoors and animals, growing up around farm animals and traveling to see the natural world with her family. She lives in Cape Cod, MA, where she recently worked at a non-profit to help rehabilitate marine animals and educate the public on marine issues. She enjoys hiking, exploring beaches, reading, and photography. She hopes to spread awareness about marine conservation by interning at Seaside.
James De Nully
James, from Jersey City, NJ, is currently in his senior year at Boston University studying Earth and Environmental Science with a minor in Biology. He hopes to do ecological research in rich ecosystems overseas in the future like he previously did while studying abroad in Ecuador. He chose to work at Seaside to learn more about sustainability, while contributing to local communities and making an impact. In his free time, he enjoys watching films with friends, and exploring new environments.
Kaitlyn, a Long Island native, graduated from University of Delaware with a B.S. in Environmental Science and a minor in Coastal and Marine Geoscience. Kaitlyn's love of nature stems from visits to the beach, spending time outdoors, and gardening with her family. As an intern at Seaside, she hopes to further her professional development by making a difference for the environment as well as gaining valuable real-world experience in the sustainability field.
Paige is from Belmar, New Jersey and recently graduated from Bucknell University with a major in Creative Writing and minors in Environmental Studies and Social Justice. She is now pursuing a Master's degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management. Her love for the ocean and hiking has lead her to Seaside, where she hopes to use her passion for the environment to advocate for a more sustainable future.
Moriah is a current senior at Furman University in South Carolina, majoring in Sustainability Sciences. After graduation in May, she wants to mitigate climate change by driving positive change for sustainable development. She will be the events project manager and human resources intern and is excited for the opportunity to learn leadership skills at Seaside. She is from Exeter, New Hampshire and in her free time, she enjoys skiing, hiking and waterskiing.
Austin is a Senior at the University of North Texas Studying Human Resource Management. Growing up in North Carolina, going to the beach sparked a love for the environment, and he is excited to bring this passion to Seaside and make a meaningful change to the community. In the future he hopes to get his masters in Urban Resilience and Sustainability. When he is not working he likes to read, cook, and spend time with friends and family.
Jessica, a senior at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA, is studying Biology and Sustainability Studies. She grew up hiking, skiing, and camping which developed into a passion for the outdoors. In her free time she loves spending time at the beach, taking photographs, and hanging out with any and all animals. She's excited to explore her passion for the ocean and environmental conservation, while also working within her local and global community.
Ashley currently resides in Bozeman, Montana where she obtained two bachelor’s degrees and competed nationally as a triathlete. She currently works as a Project Coordinator. Ashley spends all of her free time in pursuit of outdoor adventures such as backcountry skiing, backpacking, climbing, trail running, and more. At Seaside, she hopes to deepen her knowledge of sustainability in order to implement responsible practices within corporations while bettering their greatest resource - people.
Paige, from Boyertown, PA, is currently a senior at Ursinus College pursuing a degree in Psychology and a minor in Biology. She is passionate about environmental education as well as environmental psychology specific to the natural environment. Her past experience includes being a Sustainability Fellow at her college, during which she was able to manage the college's organic farm for the entirety of a growing season. She is excited to advocate for action and education in our communities.
Grace, a junior from Rutledge, GA, is pursuing a degree in International Affairs with a minor in Sustainability at George Washington University. In high school, she developed a passion for sustainability after watching many documentaries on climate change. Seaside Sustainability is the perfect place to learn how to use her coursework and skills to make a positive impact on the environment, now and in her future career!
Olivia is from Syracuse, NY and is now a Junior at Union College double majoring in Environmental Policy and Managerial Economics. She is part of the women's volleyball team at Union and part of many clubs where she expresses her interest in law, environmental issues and economics. Olivia is excited to join Seaside as an intern and is eager to learn more about Seaside's mission so she can apply it within her community.
Luca, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, is a sophomore at the College of Wooster majoring in Economics and Computer Science. He is very passionate about environmental sustainability and is excited to be a part of an organization that shares this commitment. In his free time Luca enjoys reading, playing chess, and being a member of his College's soccer team.
Gabriela, from Cary, North Carolina, is currently a junior studying Environmental Studies on the Sustainability Track at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She hopes to drive positive change at the corporate level by becoming a sustainability consultant someday. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, singing, gardening, and hiking. Gabriela is thrilled to join Seaside because she is inspired by our work to protect the marine environment and make environmental education accessible.
Alyssa, from Berkley, MA, is a UMass Amherst '20 graduate. During college she wrote, edited, and contributed to Her Campus' social media. She initially became passionate about the outdoors simply by playing in her backyard. She chose to intern at Seaside to help raise awareness and make improvements to the current state of the ocean's ecosystems, while learning alongside a supportive community. Her other interests include hiking, reading, writing, and beach volleyball.
Phillip Wessel is an intern working in the Green Scholars and grant writing teams at Seaside Sustainability. He grew up on a farm near Chandlerville, Illinois, and is currently studying Environmental Science at Nova Southeastern Univeristy. Phil is determined to build the next generation of environmentalists from an early age through education, entertainment, and activism.
Nichole resides in Hartford and graduated from the University of Connecticut (UConn) with a degree in Environmental Studies. Currently, she's furthering her education by pursuing a MS from Virginia Tech in Natural Resource Management. Her love for the environment began with skiing and hiking in New England as a child. Nichole's excited to bring her passion to Seaside and engage with the community to ensure a sustainable future.
Jessica is a high school sophomore from Southern California. She has also lived in Singapore, South Korea, and other parts of the United States. At Seaside Sustainability, she hopes to explore the intersection between environmental sustainability and technology. When she isn't working with Seaside, she loves to write poetry, volunteer at organizations for the visually impaired, and eat homemade cookies.
Lauren is from Melbourne, Australia and recently graduated from Ball State University with a dual degree in journalism and telecommunications. Having grown up on the coast, she has always been interested in ensuring that our oceans and natural environment are protected. Lauren strives to contribute to meaningful change through her writing, and she felt that working with Seaside was a wonderful way to achieve this goal while also furthering her skills in new areas.
Joel, from Huntington, UK, recently earned a Masters degree in Natural Resource Management from Virginia Tech. He also studied Psychology and Education at UC Santa Barbara, where he ran two research studies on facial expressions and volunteered his time teaching vulnerable youth. Joel also worked as a falconer for Mass Audubon, teaching conservation lessons to large groups while holding birds of prey. When he's not working to make the world a better place, Joel enjoys traveling and scuba diving.
Estrella, born and raised in Kaneohe, Hawaii, joined the military at 18, and now lives in Maryland. She has a Bachelors in Environmental Science from American Military University, and is currently getting a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in International Management. In Hawaii there is a saying “Malama ka ‘Aina” - to love and nurture the land. She holds a love and respect for living things and the earth, and Seaside gives her the opportunity to make a difference.
Tiffany is a freshman studying sociology at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She loves running, playing tennis, taking photographs, and listening to music. Growing up in Beijing and living in New Jersey for many years, Tiffany has a multicultural understanding of obstacles different communities face in achieving a greener society. She is eager to bring her perspectives to the team and be inspired by other self-driven peers who are also passionate about environmental justice.
Gabriella is currently a Masters Student and graduate fellow in the Civil Engineering department at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA. She received her Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with a minor in Environmental Studies and Sustainability. She is from Nashua, NH and loves exploring the White Mountains. Along with hiking and exploring she is an animal lover. All of that led her to Seaside. She wanted to take her passion and knowledge to help make a difference in preserving the environment.
Juan is a Junior at ASFM High School in Monterrey, Mexico. He is involved in his school’s Green Team and has become interested in environmental science, hoping to major in it. He joined Seaside due to the opportunities to meet a worldwide community of other people passionate about sustainability and hopes to learn more while making a change and contributing to Seaside’s mission.
Loreanna San Pedro
Loreanna, from CA, is a recent graduate of UC Irvine. She majored in Environmental Science and minored in Public Health, which stemmed from her passion for healthy environments and healthy communities. She has experience in a wide range of sustainability projects from past volunteer work focused on energy conservation, water conservation, green building certification, and environmental education. She is excited to join Seaside's mission to advocate for the environment.
Linda, from Danvers, MA recently graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover, MA. She is currently on a gap year and will be attending Williams College in the Fall. She plans to major in Political Economy with a concentration in Public Health and Environmental Science. She is interested in the study of climate change, specifically the intersection between global warming and infectious disease. She is passionate about sustainable fashion and interested in environmental law.
Edmarie grew up deep within the mountains in the country side of Puerto Rico. Her admiration for the environment inspired her to pursue a B.S. in Biology. She went on to pursue a Masters of Public Health in Environmental Health from Boston University. Within that time she became familiar with an honorable pursuit of teaching STEM to middle school students. Edmarie joined Seaside to blend her experience in education and her love for the environment. She hopes to further Seaside's mission.
Evan recently graduated from Framingham State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Policy. Although he is from Reading, MA, Evan resides on the coast in Gloucester, MA during the summer months. Evan joined Seaside Sustainability in order to further pursue his lifelong passion for oceanic conservation and environmental legislation, as well as have the opportunity to collaborate on meaningful projects with a dedicated group of people.
Ash, a NH native, is a senior at the University of New Hampshire studying Environmental Science with a concentration in Ecosystems. Her past projects and volunteer experiences involve invasive species management, environmental contamination and climate policy. She was drawn to Seaside for its commitment to investing in blue technologies and promoting sustainability through education. She is grateful for the opportunity to learn from others and work in favor of sustainability advocacy.
Sophia, a recent graduate of Merrimack College, completed her Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media. A resident of Acton, MA, Sophia has always felt a deep appreciation for the natural world. Working at Seaside Sustainability, she hopes to contribute not only her skills, but her passion for a sustainable future and the preservation of the planet and its biodiversity. She is also excited to deepen her understanding of these issues and join the next generation of sustainability leaders.
A senior at Arizona State University, Erica is completing a B.S. in Geography and Sustainability as well as a B.A. in Anthropology. She has completed research on the benefits and drawbacks of national parks on marginalized communities as well as the habitat selection factors of whooping cranes. She has also worked with Johnson & Johnson to create more sustainable packaging solutions for their products. Her passion led her to Seaside where science education and communication are valued.
Sarah is a junior at Northeastern University pursuing a degree in Communication Studies along with minors in Environmental Studies and Sustainable Business Practices. She is originally from northern California, but also spent some time living in Munich, Germany, before moving to Boston for university. Her passion for the environment led her to Seaside Sustainability, where she hopes to gain marketing experience for a company that aligns with her values.
Max is a junior at Lehigh University pursuing a major in journalism and a minor in sustainable development. His passion for environmental sustainability is inspired by his love of skiing and all things outdoors. Max hopes to use his time at Seaside to gain valuable skills and experience as he builds towards a career in environmental policy. Apart from his role at Seaside, Max is a columnist at The Brown & White and serves as president of the Lehigh Squash Club.
Danielle is a recent graduate of University of California, Davis, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science and Management. She plans to dedicate her life to uniting people, planet and profit for a more sustainable corporate world. Danielle decided to join Seaside due to its relentless dedication to global impact and its work with environmentally conscious businesses.
Lauren is a first-year Masters in Sustainability Management student at the Kogod School of Business at American University in Washington, D.C. She received her Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder and had the opportunity to work on a sustainable development project in Sweden. She was drawn to Seaside Sustainability because of their mission of passionately creating sustainable oceans and communities through action.
Kelly is a rising sophomore studying Electrical and Computer Engineering at Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering. Originally from Irvine, California, Kelly now resides in Redmond, Washington. In her free time, she enjoys taking photographs, binging shows, and baking. Kelly chose Seaside to work on projects that she truly cares about, alongside peers that share her passion for sustainability and making a positive impact on communities.
Alex chose to work for Seaside to improve his project-learning based curriculum writing abilities. Alex currently attend the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne as an environmental education graduate student. His bachelor's degree is from St. Cloud State University in hydrology. Alex hopes to someday apply curricula that he writes to summer camps and/or non-traditional schools.
Eveline is from Rome, Italy, where she lived until she moved to New York for college. Eveline is a sophomore at Barnard College and plans on majoring in Environment and Sustainability. Eveline joined Seaside Sustainability because she appreciates all the amazing policy work they do and wanted to be a part of the change.
Emily was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand; where she developed a great passion for nature and the ocean. Emily is currently pursuing a degree in Earth, Energy & Sustainability at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Emily chose to pursue an internship with Seaside Sustainability as she wanted her academic work to have real meaning and have a positive effect on the environment. In the future, Emily is aiming for a career in sustainability specifically conservation.
Riley is a Junior at Indiana University studying Environmental Management. She plans on using her life long passion for environmental advocacy to live a sustainable life and inspire others to do the same. Riley enjoys picnics and bike rides in her spare time. She can’t wait to put her education to action at Seaside.

Krishayla was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia. Upon a trip to Kahuku beach, on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, Krishayla witnessed an incredible amount of plastic waste and vowed to help protect the environment. Krishayla will receive her Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a minor in Sustainability, May 2021. Her efforts in life are to help organizations reduce and/or eliminate their dependence of single-use plastics and to redefine Corporate Responsibility.
Kathleen is originally from Riverside, CA and has moved to the California coast to attend college at the University of California, Santa Barbara. As a rising senior, Kathleen is majoring in Environmental Studies with an emphasis in Environmental management. At UCSB, Kathleen has found her passion regarding the environment and is looking forward to applying all that she has learned in her time at UCSB to Seaside. Kathleen cannot wait for the opportunity to make a real world impact.
Laura is from Adams, MA and is a recent graduate of UMass Amherst. Laura studied Natural Resource Conservation, focusing on wildlife ecology as well as coastal and marine sciences. Laura is planning on earning a Master's in Engineering at Boston University. After being a camp counselor for three summers Laura chose to work for Seaside because of the opportunity to give back as well as learn and contribute towards a sustainable future.
Samantha is a high school senior from Fullerton, California, and attends Rosary Academy. She is passionate about youth-led climate change advocacy and volunteers at her local children's science museum. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer and embroidering and hopes to major in environmental science. Samantha decided to work for Seaside because of their emphasis on providing educational opportunities for youth relating to the environment.
Meredith is from Caro, Michigan, and is currently a sophomore at Smith College studying biology and marine ecology. She dedicated much of her time in high school in working with her community to develop more environmentally sustainable practices in her school district. The Seaside Sustainability internship is a great fit for her because of her passion for the health of marine ecosystems and combating the detrimental effects posed by climate change.
Nate is a senior at Emory University majoring in Environmental Sciences and minoring in English. Growing up in the small town of Payson, Arizona instilled Nate with a love of the outdoors from a young age, and he is excited to direct those passions into an internship in the green field. In his free time, Nate enjoys hiking, reading, and playing sports. He chose to work with Seaside because of its educational emphasis and because he wants to learn more about how human activity impacts the Earth.
Alyssa is a senior at Arizona State University. She decided to pursue a degree in Sustainability when she began to independently learn about and research the topic of fast fashion and its impact on the environment. Quickly developing a passion for this issue, she knew that Sustainability was what she was meant to pursue in life. Being able to intern with Seaside Sustainability is an honor for her as the environmental and educational values held by Seaside align with her own.
Isabel is from Barre, Vermont. She is a rising senior at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, where she has a double major in English Communications and English Literature. She aspires to work in the magazine industry, work in social media, or be a travel writer. She chose to work for Seaside because of the range of options they have in the communications field. She is excited to combine her love for communications and her passion for sustainability to promote the mission of Seaside
Graham graduated from Hamilton College with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and a focus division in Economics this spring. Hailing from Norwell, Massachusetts, he spent last summer working for a non-profit organization Barnstable Clean Water Coalition. He chose to work at Seaside in order to provide meaningful environmental services to the community and gain valuable skills and experience as he builds towards a career in sustainability consulting or environmental policy.
Clare is from rural Indiana and she is currently a senior at Ball State University where she studies Digital Video Production. Daniela grew up in Acton, Massachusetts, and currently is pursuing a Master’s in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University. As an undergraduate marketing major, Daniela fell in love with storytelling, though she felt like something was missing from her education. She desires to combine her passion for sustainability and travel with her background in business. Daniela joined Seaside to do just that and hopes that she can support Seaside’s mission in the process.
Anna is from Rockport, MA and is a senior at Salve Regina University where she is pursuing studies in communications and marketing. Growing up by the ocean, she has firsthand experience of how important it is to protect the environment. As an intern at Seaside, she hopes to make a difference in both the local and global community while growing her professional skills among like-minded people.
Cassidy is from Towaco, NJ and is a recent graduate of the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. Her background lies in marketing, social media, and grant writing. In her free time she enjoys traveling, running, and reading. She is passionate about environmental sustainability and excited to join Seaside’s efforts to create meaningful change.
Cassie is 20 years old and grew up in Ridgefield, Connecticut. She is in her last semester at Stonehill College in Massachusetts where she is a double major in Psychology and Environmental Studies. She loves to cook, read, garden, and she is learning how to long board. She is so proud to work for Seaside Sustainability so she can put all of her passion for environmental activism to work! Denise grew up in Lilongwe, Malawi, but has lived in Rockville, Maryland for 7 years. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's in Environmental Science and Policy. Denise has a background in Development, Fundraising, and Project Management through various internships. It is with this background that she leads the Sustainability Calculator, Donor Evaluation, and Business Plan projects. It is also with this background that she manages interns.
Bevyn is a first-year Masters of Public Health Student in Community Health & Prevention at Drexel University's Dornsife School of Public Health in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2018 with her BA in History & Natural Science. She is excited to contribute to Seaside's promotion of environmental health & sustainability. After spending summers in Gloucester, she looks forward to the opportunity to contribute to local projects with a global impact.
I am from Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a third year at UC Santa Cruz and majoring in Environmental Studies. My interests include drawing, camping, and playing instruments such as guitar and ukulele. I chose to do an internship at Seaside Sustainability because I believe that they do meaningful work and I am excited to contribute to the cause of environmental sustainability.
Kaitlyn Calhoun is from the Southwest, El Paso, TX, and decided to trade in the desert for the snow by attending the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. Outside of work and school, she enjoys spending her time volunteering, hiking, and playing frisbee golf. Kaitlyn has been passionate about the environment for as long as she can remember. She is excited to apply what she has learned as an environmental engineer and create positive change in the real world with Seaside.
Amelia is a rising senior at Santa Clara University in CA, from Bethesda, MD. She's studying Environmental Studies with a minor in Economics to prepare for the corporate sector of sustainable & ethical fashion. She's the founder of Sustainability Of: Podcast, which is run by four individuals. Being a Remake Our World Ambassador and Member of the Ethical Influencer Network has taught her an immense amount about living more consciously & she hopes to help others do the same everywhere she goes.
Cat, who is originally from Connecticut, is a rising junior at Harvard studying Applied Mathematics with a focus in Economics. She is involved in a few campus publications as a graphic designer, and loves running and playing tennis and squash. In the past, she has worked on her sustainable fashion project at the Harvard Innovation Labs. She decided to join Seaside after her research on the environment and the fashion industry and is extremely excited to help spread awareness and get involved!
My name is Haemaru Chung and I am from New York City. I currently attend Harvard College and am majoring in Economics. As I believe that education and sustainable communities are truly important for everyone, I wanted to support NSTEM and Seaside Sustainability's missions. I also love playing violin and sports such as soccer in my spare time.
Hailey is from North Reading, MA and is into her Sophomore year at the University of Vermont with a major in Environmental Science and a minor in Food Systems. She is passionate about the environment and environmental justice/advocacy. Hailey chose to work at Seaside because of the many different programs and the ability to explore various aspects about the environment while also staying informed to be able to help combat environmental issues.
Kirsten is a Communication major and online student with The University of Texas Permian Basin. She was born and raised in Watertown, Massachusetts. Kirsten has always had a heart for the planet and passion for education and advocacy. She hopes to one day be able to work full-time for a nonprofit organization. She is excited to be interning with Seaside Sustainability due to her firm belief in the work that they are doing and the importance of conservation.
Jess is from Lynnfield, MA & is a junior at Bowdoin College majoring in Environmental Studies & Economics. Seaside provides a unique experience to broaden her understanding about coastal communities' struggles in dealing with climate change, directly help mitigation efforts, & raise climate change awareness through applying her knowledge & skills on these issues. Jess is passionate about environmental education, climate change action, & is excited to collaborate with interns & the community.
Ella Roelofs is from Newburyport, MA, and is a freshman at Middlebury College, where she is planning on studying Environmental Chemistry. Growing up by the ocean, Ella has developed a strong passion for protecting the marine environment and her love of spending time in nature has sparked her interest in sustainability & climate change. She is excited that she is able to take meaningful action to help create better, more sustainable communities and to protect the future of our planet.
Shuhao Liu - Shuhao, or Shu, is from Beijing, China. He is a rising Junior at Bowdoin College pursuing a double major in Economics and Government. He enjoys skiing the mountains of Maine and biking on the coastal routes near his college. His newly found passion for sustainability was inspired by an Environmental Law course which he took as a Sophomore. He is especially interested in the prospect of integrating sustainability, business, and policies.
Katie is a senior at the University of Tampa studying political science and sustainability with a background in marine science. Growing up in Iowa fostered a connection with the land, which has evolved into a passion for conservation, sustainability, and environmental justice. As an intern with Seaside Sustainability she hopes to assist in creating positive social change!
Tsewang is Tibetan but currently lives in Madison, as a senior studying Zoology at UW-Madison. She cares deeply about environmental justice, advocacy, and protection, which are also core components of Seaside Sustainability. In her free time you can find her fawning over her cat, attempting to cook, and binging stand up comedies. She is excited to join this organization full of other like-minded and passionate individuals trying to make the world better.
Hannah is from Lexington, SC and is pursuing a degree in the humanities and environmental studies at Wofford College. Having grown up on the East Coast, she is passionate about protecting coastal communities and keeping them clean. She is excited to work at Seaside, where she will have the opportunity to develop professional skills, actively contribute to protecting the ocean, and learn more about how to incorporate environmental advocacy in her future career.
Brendan is from Rockport, MA and is currently a junior at Salem State University majoring in Geography and Sustainability. He is very passionate about where he lives and the actions that Seaside is taking to not only better the local area, but the overall environment as well. Growing up in a beautiful place such as Cape Ann has deepened his love of nature and the oceans, and he is very excited to make a difference through Seaside.
Miranda is from Aurora, IL, and is a rising senior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is studying Earth, Society, and Environmental Sustainability with a minor in Business and a certificate in Environmental Writing. She recently discovered her passion for sustainability and transferred to this major last year. She chose to work with Seaside Sustainability because she's inspired by all the work they do to foster awareness for the environment, as well as to inspire action.
Sara is from Allegany, New York, and studies Spanish and Marketing at Nazareth College. She loves reading, spending time with friends, and spending time in nature. She has been passionate about environmental conservation for several years, and chose to work with Seaside in order to help the environment and protect the oceans.
Monica is from NH and currently resides in Nashua. She attended Hawai'i Pacific University for three years studying biology and environmental studies before transferring online to ASU to complete her degree in Sustainability. In her free time she enjoys hiking, going to the beach, and yoga! She chose to work at Seaside due to their focus on environmental sustainability and conservation of our coastlines, something she is very passionate about herself and hopes to continue pursuing in the future.
Hannah is a junior at Wheaton College, MA, studying Computer Science and Film and New Media studies. Growing up in rural New England, she has always appreciated the environment and strove to preserve, protect, and advocate for it. At Wheaton, she serves as the Vice Chair for the school’s Sustainability Board. She is very excited to intern at Seaside, where she will be able to get professional experience in her fields of study while also working for a great cause!
Eva Trainer is from Ipswich, MA. She is currently studying Sociology and BDIC Film Studies at The University of MA Amherst. Growing up on the coast of MA, conservation & sustainability have always been a part of her daily life. Eva uses her skills in photography & videography to help promote environmental stewardship. She is thrilled to be an intern at Seaside so that she can be a part of the organization that is helping to preserve, protect, & restore our local & global communities.
Paul was born in Indianapolis, IN and has lived overseas for much of his childhood before returning to the US. As a senior, he is finishing up a Bachelor’s Degree in Outdoor Recreation Leadership & Management at Northern Michigan University. He has considerable experience working in the hospitality industry & wants to continue this through a more eco-friendly route. Paul is passionate about the environment & hopes that with a career path in sustainability he can make real changes in the world.
Haley has lived in MA her entire life and has had the fun experience of growing up in Concord. In high school, I was thoroughly inspired by a teacher to study environmental science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She’s interested in environmental policy and teaching, especially how to make our cities more green. She chose to work for Seaside because of their devotion to teaching interns and their hard work toward helping the environment.
Grace is from Collegeville, PA. She is a junior at Dickinson College, pursuing a double major in Environmental Studies & Political Science. She spends every summer in Cape Cod, MA and spent two years volunteering at a local community garden, where she helped teach nutrition classes & helped donate the crops to a local food pantry. She chose to work for Seaside Sustainability because it is a community-oriented effort to protect our environment.
Dori is a junior at American University majoring in Environmental Science & Communications. Her passion for sustainability & marine conservation began in her childhood where she grew up near the coast in North Carolina, visiting the beach often. Dori is also a wildlife & landscape photographer. She has worked previously as a social media coordinator for American University's Sustainable Ocean Alliance and loves integrating the fields of communications and environmental science.
Sarah, originally from Natick, MA, is a graduate of Washington University with a major in Environmental Biology & minor in Business of Sports Management. Her love for the environment arose from growing up in an outdoorsy & adventurous family, her studies, and ecology research in South Africa. Her professional interests include sustainable investing and travel, ecotourism, & environmental consulting. Sarah joined Seaside Sustainability to contribute to local environmental efforts & education.
Lakeshia lives in New York City and is pursuing her Master’s in Public Administration at John Jay College. She has an interest in working in nonprofit management and sustainability which is why she was attracted to Seaside. She hopes that her time at Seaside will help her build the necessary skills needed to work for an International NGO. In her free time she enjoys traveling around the world, and reading non-fiction books.
Emma is an undergraduate junior at Arizona State University getting her BS in sustainability, certificate in food systems sustainability, and a minor in French. She has always been an environmentalist at heart, and she continues that role within her passion for sustainable food systems. She chose to work for Seaside because she wanted to be a part of an organization that was making real change.
Tess is from Northborough, MA and is a senior at American University in Washington, D.C. She is majoring in International Studies with a specialization in Environmental Sustainability and Global Health. She is passionate about making a difference in communities and working on making positive change. She is excited to work with an organization that shares her love for the ocean environment, for education, and for conservation.
Alexandra is an undergraduate junior at the University of Missouri, pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in water resource management. She was born in Westfield, NJ but grew up for most of her life in St. Louis, MO. Alexandra has worked as a camp counselor for the last 7 years, has a passion for working with children, & wants to create a better environment for the generations to come. She is honored to be a part of Seaside and is excited to be a part of the impact.
Deanna Brenon is from Brownville, New York and studied Marine Biology at the University of New Haven. She is passionate about environmental advocacy and sustainability, and her favorite animal is a beluga whale! Deanna is excited to intern at Seaside and build on her skills and experience while working to create a more sustainable future.
Cassie grew up in Oxford, MA and pursued a degree in Biology at Worcester State. Her interest in animals and the environment has afforded her the privilege to work on projects involving sea turtles in NC, migratory birds in Ecuador, bumble bees in VA, and injured wildlife species that call New England home. She is eager to delve further into conservation and sustainability in her time working with Seaside Sustainability.
Danni Meng is pursuing her master's in Patel College of Global Sustainability at the University of South Florida. Majoring in global sustainability with a concentration in entrepreneurship. She was born and raised in the south of China, she believes that sustainability is the legacy we leave behind us. She is excited to work with a team that shares the same view and has the same passion to make changes to the world.
Kuan-Wei Chen, aka David, is from Taiwan, currently studying Sustainable Business in University of South Florida. He loves the ocean and want to learn something more practical, so he chose to work for Seaside. He hopes to be able to help Seaside and learn from his experiences here.
Jackson was born in New Mexico but currently lives near Seattle, Washington. He is a Junior attending Pitzer College while pursuing a major in Science Management. In his free time, Jackson enjoys performing Improv comedy and physical activities like surfing and ultimate frisbee. Jackson decided to intern with Seaside Sustainability because of their attitude of leading by example in the midst of the climate crisis.
Tyler Smith is from Beverly, MA and is an undergrad student going to school at Unity College, with a major in Environmental Policy, Law, and Society. He has been interested in the environment since he was young and looks to study more and protect it. He is a big advocate for environmental justice, and water pollution. He would love to learn and broaden his experiences with Seaside.
McKenna is a senior at the University of Virginia, majoring in American Studies and minoring in Global Sustainability. Born and raised in the river city of Richmond, Virginia, she is passionate about strengthening bonds between communities and their environments and is likely to be found walking in the woods. She is excited to join the Seaside team to build on her experience in the nonprofit arts and education fields and to promote environmental stewardship.
Mikayla is an undergraduate senior at Arizona State University pursuing a Sustainability degree focused on policy and governance as well as minors in both Biological Sciences and Spanish. Her interests in sustainability lie in climate change as well as marine conservation. She has done many projects related to the anthropogenic impacts on climate change, food systems, and marine life.
Sarah is a senior at Arizona State University studying a Bachelor of Science degree in Sustainability with a focus in sustainable ecosystems. She lives in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and has always had a passion for nature and protecting the environment. An internship through Seaside Sustainability interested her because their overall views align very well with her own, especially when it comes to educating others about their roles towards a sustainable future.
Sam lives locally in the town of Manchester, MA. He's here at Seaside to participate in an internship program with Bennington College where he attends in southwestern Vermont. His area of study is Advancement of Public Action, centered around sustainability. The internship here at Seaside is an excellent opportunity for him to develop skills in his area of study, and is made even more meaningful by working to better the local community he has grown up in.
Kellie is from Lancaster, PA, where she attends Millersville University. She's a senior studying Science Writing. Kellie is passionate about environmental advocacy, especially as it pertains to the ocean, and this is why she chose to work with Seaside Sustainability.
Alexis is from Pembroke, MA and is a sophomore at Umass Amherst. She is majoring in Environmental Science and Natural Resources Conservation. Her interests include hiking and traveling. Having been to 10+ national parks, she has grown to appreciate the importance of nature to both people and ecosystems. She aims to protect the environment as best she can and saw Seaside Sustainability as the perfect place to learn skills to do that.
Danny currently resides in Northampton, MA and attends UMass Amherst, where he is pursuing a Master’s degree in Sustainability Science. Having grown up surfing In Hampton, NH, he has always been close to the ocean and is passionate about keeping it clean and vibrant. He found Seaside Sustainability as the missing puzzle piece he needed to pursue a life of environmental protection and improved human health.
Adit is a Junior at Reseda Chart High School. He is enrolled in the science magnet program where one of key focuses are environmental conservation and sustainability. Adit was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, right by the ocean. Adit is passionate about cryptocurrencies, blockchian technology, and environmental conservation. He choose to work at Seaside to give back to the environment and help further Seaside's mission in ocean conservation and suitability.
Lauren is from Southbury, CT and is currently a senior at Brandeis University. She studies Environmental Studies with a minor in Educational Studies and is a captain on the Brandeis Women's Basketball team. For the past two summers, Lauren has worked as a camp counselor in upstate New York, but wishes to explore more opportunities with working to protect our environment, which is what Seaside offers.
Delores is from Spintex, Ghana but moved to America for her undergraduate degree. She is currently a recent graduate of Knox College, having attained her B.A in Economics and Business and Management. Her passion for environmental issues began in her freshman year after taking the course Environmental Economics. She chose to work with Seaside to be more informed on sustainability issues in order to properly combat economic misconceptions about the environment.
Michael Lemoine attends The Patel College of Global Sustainability at the University of South Florida and will be receiving his Masters in Global Sustainability with his concentration in Coastal Sustainability at the end of Spring 2020. He is excited to make this program his capstone and looks forward to the Seaside Internship to finish out his grad school degree. He is extremely lucky to be able to work with such a great organization with like minded individuals who care about the environment.
Joanna is a senior at Boston University studying International Relations and Environmental Analysis and Policy, and she hails from Brooklyn, NY. At school, she's involved with a cappella, the International Affairs Association, the International Relations Professional Society, and Reproductive Health and Policy Advocates. A summer researching plastics in the ocean for the World Wildlife Fund brought me to intern at Seaside, and she's very excited to get started with Seaside!
Melissa is from Gloucester, Massachusetts and is currently an environmental studies major at North Shore Community College. She has always been interested in helping the environment and specifically has a passion for marine/wildlife conservation. She enjoys spending time outdoors and finds it extremely important to preserve the beautiful world around us. Melissa chose Seaside because they are important, active members of her community in making efforts to preserve their oceans & the environment.
Maria is pursuing a master's degree in Natural Resource Management and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; she received her bachelor's of science in Conservation and Resource Studies from UC Berkeley. She has done conservation fieldwork in several coasts of Mexico. Maria lives in San Diego, California, where she's an active volunteer advocating for climate action.
Kelly is a senior student at University of Massachusetts Amherst studying on exchange at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo for the Fall 2019 semester, pursuing a degree in Natural Resources Conservation with a certificate in Media Literacy. She came across the internship opportunity for Seaside Sustainability and applied thinking it would be a great way to productively spend her time and grow as a professional while living in Hawai'i.
Sophie is a biology major at Gordon College from Southern Vermont. When she heard about Seaside Sustainability, she was immediately interested as it is a way to have a direct impact on the health of this planet and a way to explore career possibilities within my major. As a biology major, she has been exposed to how much humans have taken advantage of earth, and she seeks to reverse those effects.
Yui is currently a senior in University High School, a public school in Irvine, California. She was originally born and raised in Tokyo, Japan but moved to the States when she was about 9 years old. Her goal is to attend one of the UC schools and major in environmental science. She found her passion for environmental science when she took the AP course her junior year; hence, she decided to join Seaside so that she can work to help the environment in real life.
Brooke is from Windham, New Hampshire and is currently double majoring in marketing and criminology at Florida State University. She has always had a deep love for nature and has spent time volunteering and participating in the Environmental Service Program at FSU. Brooke strongly desires to make a difference in the world, which is why she has chosen to work for Seaside, to help make the world a better, more sustainable place.
Alyssa Ramirez, originally from Oxnard, California, received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from San Diego State University. After developing a passion for environmental sustainability, she started volunteering with Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, an NYC based organization to reduce food waste. She was drawn to Seaside Sustainability after learning of their integrated model of science-based efforts, work with plastic ordinances, and educational outreach.
Jessica has a background in Accounting and Office Management. She was drawn to Seaside Sustainability by their work via legislative action and their efforts with cleaning up the environment. She has an interest in learning about the legislative processes for environmental action, as well as in the processes of enacting active environmental cleanup action and education.
Julie moved from her hometown in Rockville, MD to become an undergraduate student at NYU and is currently majoring in environmental studies and anthropology. She has had a passion for sustainability since her childhood and is proud to be apart of a growing movement of adolescents and young adults fighting for climate justice. The work at Seaside attracted her because of her interests in climate change solutions, educating future generations, and our beautiful oceans.
Cara is from the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration and Master of Public Health at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. Cara is extremely passionate about environmental health, as it makes an incredible impact on public health. She finds the mission, vision, and initiatives at Seaside to recognize the importance of sustaining the environment.
Nandita is a rising senior at Hillsborough High School in New Jersey. Her parents were raised in a small community on the coast of India, and they were taught to have a keen awareness about the state of the environment. With a love for the environment embedded in her roots, she was drawn to Seaside Sustainability because of their commitment to make a substantial impact and the wide-ranging problems they address as a community.
Tam is a graduate student in Environmental Studies master program, at San Jose State University, California. She is interested in green technology, sustainable urban and building design. The internship at Seaside is an opportunity for her to contribute to the community, to create better, healthier, and more beautiful places with integration, comfort, and safety, as well as to raise everyone’s awareness on environment and sustainability.
Erica Kriner is a junior from Little Rock, AR, double majoring in sustainability and geography at Arizona State University. Her interest in sustainability began as a child growing up on her family's tree farm, and her professional interest skyrocketed after she attended the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment. After graduation, she will pursue graduate school for a phD in ecosystem sustainability, where she hopes to research the intersection of sustainability & environmental justice.
Stephannie is a graduate student in Southern New Hampshire University's online MS in Data Analytics program. She is a remote intern who lives in a remote area herself in Northern Minnesota, where she enjoys exploring the outdoors on horseback. She chose to intern with Seaside Sustainability to broaden her online work portfolio by joining her analytical skills with her experience in STEM education.
Michelle recently earned her Master's degree in Sustainability and Environmental Management from the Harvard Extension School. Her studies and research focused on natural resource management and sustainable ecosystems, especially those relating to marine health and conservation. Michelle is excited to further Seaside Sustainability's crucial role in environmental education and awareness and in the conservation of the ocean's fragile ecosystems, both locally in New England and around the world.
Drew, a rising senior at St. John’s Prep, has spent his entire life near the ocean and has now decided to make efforts towards preserving the environment with Seaside Sustainability. You can always find him near the water whether he is kayaking, boating, or fishing. Drew is hoping to study civil/environmental engineering in college so that he can design infrastructure that will conform to the current environmental crisis around the world.
John is from Pebble Beach, California and is a rising senior at Harvard University. He studies Environmental Science and Public Policy and is a member of Harvard's football team. Last summer John worked at a law firm in Boston but wanted to do more to help the environment. He chose Seaside because of the hands-on work interns are able to do and the good work Seaside is doing in the local communities to promote sustainability.
Adele MacEwen is a rising senior Environmental Studies major at Vassar College. She loves hiking and exploring the scenic Hudson Valley of New York, but the ocean draws her back to her childhood hometown of Beverly Massachusetts. A recent semester abroad program focused on sustainability and environmental action in Australia solidified her passion to pursue a career and lifestyle dedicated to respecting and helping the earth.
Jessica is a sophomore at Amherst College, originally from Northern Virginia, and is studying statistics and East Asian studies. She has always been passionate about sustainability and environmental activism and is interested in the projects that Seaside has implemented. Her hope is to use her interests in statistics and analysis to help Seaside accomplish more for our oceans.
Margot Kelly is a rising senior at Ipswich High School. Margot has devoted her high school career to sustainable work inside her Ipswich community and neighboring coastal towns. She hopes her time at Seaside will further her love and interest for environmental causes and expand her depth of knowledge, creating sustainable impacts in the home she loves.
I grew up in the small town of Corbett, Oregon, just outside of Portland. I am currently attending Southern Oregon University. I am majoring in Environmental Science and Policy while also pursuing minors in Business Administration and Spanish. I have always been interested in sustainability and finding solutions to help better the environment for future generations. Seaside Sustainability's mission is one that I can easily get behind and will be happy to promote!
George was born and raised in Queens, New York. He developed an interest in biotechnology in high school, and began to study it more vigorously in college. He is currently at NYU, studying for a degree in Biomolecular Science, and is working for Seaside so he can better explore the environmental applications of his field.
Brittany is from Shippensburg, Pennsylvania and is a Business Management major at Shippensburg University. Her passion for sustainability ignited from Environmental Science courses she took early on in her college career. Her love of nature is vast, and most days she can be found outdoors with her family. Kayaking, hiking, and camping are at the top of her list, but never without a book or two on hand as book worm is a close second to nature lover for her!
Amy Kimmel is from Dillsburg, Pennsylvania. She is a senior at Messiah College, studying Sustainability and Public Policy with a minor in Studio Art. Having family in Massachusetts, she has grown up coming to the Cape Ann area often- each time finding another thing to love. The picturesque beauty of the coast (and much of the earth) has inspired her to take action in becoming an advocate for the environment. I live in Rockport MA and am a boarding student at Phillips Exeter Academy in NH. I'm currently a rising upper (junior) and have just returned from an environmentally focused school trip to Iceland. I've volunteered at the Backyard Growers and worked for Nourishing the North Shore. I'm passionate about bettering the environment and am excited to make a difference in my local community through Seaside!
Alex is from Madison, Wisconsin and attends Marquette University pursuing a degree in Business Economics. He chose to work for Seaside Sustainability to make a difference in our world and climate. He hopes to contribute to a great cause and say he was a part of an organization that is helping save our oceans.
Lily Brackett is from Maplewood NJ, and is now a physics major at Hamilton College. She is living in Gloucester for the summer and interning at Seaside Sustainability to help with some of the engineering projects that Seaside is taking on. She likes backpacking and leading wilderness trips, and she wants to get a graduate degree in environmental engineering after she finishes at Hamilton.
Shayna Fidler is a junior at the University of Rhode Island studying Environmental and Natural Resource Economics. Hailing from Newburyport, Massachusetts, her interests for marine and environmental equity and welfare come from a tight community. Shayna decided to work for Seaside Sustainability in an effort to do her part in environmental advocacy, as well as aiding in grant writing and other financial and outreach opportunities.
Jaclyn is a Gloucester native who is currently a full time student at Unity College, Maine. She is a senior majoring in Wildlife and Fisheries Management and has a fascination with both Ornithology and Marine organisms. In her free time, has a passion for backwoods hiking, kayaking, and fly-fishing. Moving forward, she hopes to be involved with researching native and invasive populations of New England and making positive sustainable impacts on the north shore.
Sari is a recent graduate of Arizona State University and comes from the Chicagoland area. Her interests include hiking in the outdoors, listening to music and is an avid coffee drinker. While at Arizona State University, Sari studied education and obtained her B.A. in Liberal Studies. Seaside Sustainability Inc. sparked her interest because she has learned about ocean conservation efforts and wants to apply her marketing and social media skills to this organization.
Logan's hometown is Baltimore, MD. He's majoring in computer science at Fort Hays State University. During his time off he plays tennis, watches movies, and listens to music. He chose to work for Seaside because he feels that protecting the oceans from the ever present danger of plastics is a great cause.
Breann Boyd is a rising senior Environmental Science major at Southern New Hampshire University. She enjoys the outdoors and loves hiking, swimming, and painting. She has always been passionate about the environment and wants to make a difference in her local community and surrounding areas. She is excited to join Seaside so she can gain knowledge and help the team promote environmental advocacy.
Amanda is a full-time graduate student and research assistant at Boise State University, studying Public Policy, alongside earning a certificate in Nonprofit management. When she’s not busy working or studying, she fills her free time with skiing, mountain biking, trail running, or hiking. With a background in environmental science, and a lifetime of living in the outdoors of Idaho, she has a great passion for conserving our planet’s fragile ecosystems.
Kate is from Gloucester, MA and is a senior at the University of New Hampshire. She studies Environmental and Resource Economics with a dual major in Sustainability. When she is not at school she enjoys spending time with family and friends at home, and there is nothing she loves more than spending time out on the water. She chose to work for Seaside Sustainability for the chance to get involved in the promotion of sustainability in the community she was raised in.
Kira is from Newton, MA. She goes to Pitzer College in California and is an Environmental Analysis major. She loves to play soccer, and loves to complete creative projects. She chose to work for Seaside because its mission is one that she deeply connects with, and she believes community action for the environment is the way to make real changes.
Stephany is a rising senior at Yale majoring in Economics & Computer Science. Hailing from Hartford, CT, she is excited to assist Seaside Sustainability with technical needs and hopes to learn more about nonprofit management especially within the startup/entrepreneurship space. Outside of class, she loves to read, spend time with family and friends, and attend hackathons.
Heather is a senior from Loyola University Maryland, studying Environmental and Sustainability Studies, History, and Spanish. Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, she spent all of her time outdoors which has instilled in her a deep love for the environment and a fierce desire to protect it. She’s excited to apply this passion to working with Seaside Sustainability, and to continue learning about the environment and sustainability while contributing to their mission.
Cassie is a rising senior at Emerson College studying Film Production. Growing up and spending most of my time outdoors, she has always had a strong passion for the environment and finding new ways on how she can live more sustainably. She takes inspiration from various environmental documentaries and hopes to bring that to her work at Seaside.
Jack is very interested in environmental science and public policy. He's excited to contribute to Seaside Sustainability in order to further develop his knowledge of these areas while gaining real world experience. He has always had a passion for the ocean and the outdoors and appreciates the work that Seaside is doing to promote environmental sustainability. For him, working at Seaside is one of the best opportunities for students to make a positive impact in their community.
Kendall is a Cape-Ann native that currently attends Manchester Essex Regional High School. She has a strong interest in sustainable sciences and business. She's on the debate team, DECA team, and plans on pursuing AP biology among other lab sciences in the coming years. Outside of school, she loves to backpack, snowboard, and even scuba dive. Her goal is to learn more about sustainable practices and how they can apply any business.
Ryan is from Saugus, Massachusetts and is starting his junior year at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the Natural Resources Conservation Program. He enjoys reading, writing, beekeeping, baking, and archery. He chose to work for Seaside so that he could gain more insight about the environmental field and to get the chance to help advocate for the importance of sustainability.
Jessie is a senior at Brigham Young University-Idaho studying Environmental Geo-Science. She is from New Hampshire, and has lived there her whole life. It’s a beautiful place that has inspired her to take action in preserving that beauty for future generations.
Samantha is from Hamilton, MA and is going into her junior year at the University of Vermont studying Parks, Recreation and Tourism. She's always passionate about spending time outdoors, whether it is going to the beach, camping, skiing, or going on a hike. She thinks it's important to do whatever she can to improve the environmental crisis we're in, which is why she's so excited to be working at Seaside.
Josh Erhard a rising Junior at The George Washington University. He is originally from Hamilton, MA so he's very familiar with the area. He is an environmental studies major and is hoping to take a minor in sustainability.
Halla is from Alabama and am currently a Junior at Brigham Young University - Idaho. She is majoring in Business Entrepreneurial Management with Certificates in Data Analytics and Spanish. She has always had an interest in marine science, but was drawn to Seaside Sustainability because of their effort in helping to unite and prosper the environment, society, and economy.
Helen is from Westwood, MA and is a current senior at Gordon College. She has a major in Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing. Seaside is a great fit for her because she loves non profit companies and also understands the importance of being a good steward for our planet. She loves to be creative and think outside of the box to further help bring awareness for companies as well.
Living in Michigan has taught Natasha the importance of respecting the earth. Even growing up in suburban Royal Oak has given her a passion to improve the environment. By learning sustainability tactics at Michigan State University, she has been able to help non-profits like Seaside Sustainability increase awareness and education of the environment.
Yuhan was born and raised in Shandong, China. She came here to study in 2012 at University of Iowa majoring in Psychology. After graduating in 2015, she went back home and later got interested in media. So, she got my Journalism Master degree at University of Miami in 2018. She looks forward to build my skills in writing (social media & communication in general), project campaigns, and marketing skills through this internship opportunity.
Jordann is a junior at Boston University studying International Relations and Environmental Analysis and Policy. Originally born in Chicago, she was raised in South Dakota from a young age. She's been interested in sustainability since she can remember, and has decided to make it my career to help protect the environment we live in. She chose to intern for Seaside as their programs have real and genuine impacts on the communities they work with.
Todd is from Baltimore, Maryland currently going to school at Seattle University with a major in Marketing. He is also a former enlisted military member of the United States Marines Corps. He loves watching Games of Thrones and taking his dog to the dog park. He is passionate about sustainability and improving the quality of our oceans.
Zoe is currently a sophomore at the University of Connecticut studying Psychology and Sustainable Environmental Systems! She's from Ipswich, Massachusetts, a coastal town that allowed her interest in local sustainability to grow. Last summer she did work in sustainable urban agriculture with Backyard Growers right down the street from the new Seaside Sustainability office! She hopes to expand her knowledge on how to help local areas become more environmentally aware, and help make a difference.
Daria is a junior at the University of Connecticut. Starting with her Oregonian roots, the environment has always been a passion of hers, and she is excited to apply this to her internship with Seaside Sustainability. Moving forward, she hopes to go into non-profit management and achieve a masters in public administration. When she's not working, she loves to be outdoors, cook fun foods and spend time with her friends and family.
Kelly graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors in Business. She is currently in the last semester of her Masters program at the Patel College of Global Sustainability at the University of South Florida and looking forward to applying her skills at Seaside. Spending most of her life by a coastline, she connected with Seaside's mission and the message of promoting public awareness of natural resource conservation.
Shannon is a graduate student from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL majoring in Coastal Sustainability and working as a Park Ranger for the County. Living in a state that is all coastline has given her a good drive and passion for protecting the environment and ocean conservation. She is excited to work for Seaside to learn more about how she can help to make a sustainable impact for the community.
Cassidy is a junior at Arizona State University majoring in Sustainability because she wants to help preserve the novelty of our Earth. She first became interested in Sustainability after taking Astronomy and Physics courses, where she learned how our nature and life on our planet came to flourish like no place else. She's excited to work for Seaside because their approach to Sustainability is proactive and community oriented.

Living here has sparked her interest in not only local, but national sustainability as well. Tiga is a recent graduate from Oregon State University with BS’s in Sociology and Sustainability. Her background is in outreach, marketing and social media. She is from a rural town in Oregon called Crabtree, and grew up with a fiery passion for environmental health. Seaside Sustainability was attractive to her because of its modern program that allows interns to get this unique experience and work remotely on ground breaking projects that protect our beautiful planet.
Amanda is a senior at the University of Vermont where she studies community and international development, business administration, and public administration. Originally, she's from Sagamore Beach, MA. The purpose of this partnership was to execute a recreation survey project regarding land use on the island. She's particularly interested in sustainability as it pertains to coastal conservation. She chose Seaside given their role in shaping policy to enact positive social change.
Lucy is a junior at Tulane University where she studies Environmental Biology. Recently, she spent a semester in Panama studying tropical ecology and conducting independent research. She was drawn to Seaside because of their successful work in both environmental policy and research, and is looking forward to using her newfound passion for environmental research to help create impactful changes close to home.
Michaela is from Beverly MA. She is a Senior at the University of Tampa where she is studying Biology with a concentration in organismal and evolutionary ecology. She has worked in the turtle rehab facility at Clearwater Marine Aquarium and at Cape Ann Whale Watch, Gloucester MA, where she has been doing research on the migration and behaviors of humpback whales.
I am a Junior at Tulane University. Working on program management and marketing, I like being able to have a positive impact on the environment." When looking for an internship, I wanted a place that was local and relevant to his future career where I could make a difference in my community. Fun Fact: “I took a gap year before starting college, and spent part of it backpacking around Australia and New Zealand.”
Iftikar graduated from Stony Brook University with a B.S in Biology. He grew up in New York City but became fascinated in ecology and conservation through his studies and time working in the field. He eventually wants to go to grad school and study climate change and how that affects species interaction. He joined Seaside to be a part of the global change towards preserving our oceans.
Joe is a high school senior at Landmark School. He lives in Marshfield, Massachusetts and has a passion for the well being of the environment. He hopes to make a career out of this passion by working for large companies and help guide them to more sustainable ways.
Eli is from Carmel, Indiana and currently a sophomore at Carmel High School. Previously, he worked at Children for America as a Leadership and Public Policy Intern where he researched and wrote public policy. He is passionate about conserving the environment, not only for its wonders but also because it is essential for the long-term health of animals, plants, and humans. He chose to work at Seaside because of its positive impact and the variety of meaningful roles I can participate in.
Nicola is a junior at Dickinson College where she studies environmental science and earth sciences. She has always been passionate about the outdoors which has led her to develop a strong interest in sustainability and environmental conservation. Her studies have shown her the importance of ocean conservation and she was drawn to Seaside’s work on that environmental front. She believes working at the local and community levels is one of the best ways to create positive environmental change.
Amardeep graduated from the Dubai campus of BITS and is currently a Master's student at the University of Toronto, focusing on data analytics and processing systems. His interests extend towards research, simulation studies, performing experimental research on new technologies and data science. He's had the opportunity to function in a management consultancy as well as several online research groups.
I am from Provo, Utah and I am a student at Utah Valley University majoring in Finance with minors in Environmental Studies and Business Management. I have work experience performing research and converting traditional mailed reports to a system of paperless reporting in a financial planning office. I am extremely passionate about sustainability and I want to do all I can to keep the Earth a beautiful place.
I am passionate about sustainability initiatives towards keeping our oceans and marine systems healthy. I have previously worked with NOAA’s Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary working on seabird data entry and educational outreach. I am excited to use my skills to work on initiatives for Seaside and create meaningful change in a community.
I am a senior Photography major at Texas Woman’s University. I was originally born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Over the past few years I have become increasingly concerned about the state of the environment, and interested in possible sustainability practices that can be used to help alleviate some of the issues we are facing today. Through my work at Seaside, I hope to help spread more awareness about marine issues that are impacting our oceans.
Dongyong is currently a student majoring in both geography and history in Syracuse University, NY. Originally he was born in Guangzhou, China and had moved to Boston with his family. Both cities are located in the coast and that's one reason why he is interested in coastal sustainability. He chose to work for Seaside because it is an organization that cares about the coastal environment and sustainable redevelopment.
"I am from Tainan, Taiwan. I am pursuing a master degree at the University of South Florida in Global Sustainability, and my concentration is renewable energy. I plan to take LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification before I graduated this year. I am looking forward to working with Seaside Sustainability team during this fall. In the meantime, I would like to not only expand my knowledge but also enhance my communication skills.
Abigail chose to work for Seaside Sustainability because she sees the intense need to rectify the current state of the planet. She is going to school for Electrical Engineering at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, and has worked in the administrative field for over five years. She is originally from Manchester, MA, but has spent time living all over the country.
I'm a junior in High school. Born in India, I moved to Dublin, Ohio a few years. I am primarily interested in computer science and engineering, and I choose to work with Seaside Sustainability because I can use my skills, help make an impact and protect the environment. When I am not working, I love to teach programming and make it more fun for girls at STEM Sisters or finishing up my novel.
I am an incoming junior at Ridge Point High School. The STEM field has always interested me, especially because of the huge societal and medical impacts it has created. I chose to work for Seaside because not only do I gain experience in the STEM field, but in doing so, I am helping create a safe and healthy environment.
I’m a passionate environmentalist from Pune, India. I have completed my Master’s in Environmental Sustainability (2017) from University of Pennsylvania with a focus on food systems. I also have an undergraduate degree in Environmental Sciences from University of Pune, India. Currently, I’m working as an Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist at an electronic waste recycling company in Philadelphia.
I'm a sophomore at Brown University where I am concentrating in Health and Human Biology with a focus on Global and International Health. I am extremely interested in sustainability, especially what citizens can do at a local level with civic engagement. Growing up on the North Shore, I have always been passionate about environmental protection. My name is Brooks Barrett from Rockport, MA. I am a recent graduate of Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and minors in Environmental Science and Global Communication. Growing up on the North Shore has led me to become quite familiar with the local environment, wildlife, coastal habitats, and community. Last summer, I conducted research regarding enhancing public engagement in marine conservation of aquatic ecosystems and organisms.
I am from Georgetown, Massachusetts, and I currently attend the University of New Hampshire as a senior. My long term interests include working in a business setting to make operations more sustainable for a company with a specific mission statement, or working in the geospatial side of conservation. My personal interests include going to the gym, hanging out with friends, collecting plants (Succulents, cacti, annuals, perennials, etc.), and my ideal pet would be a ball python.

I'm Danny V. and I'm originally from Naperville, IL. I am currently a rising senior at St. Olaf College (located in Northfield, MN) majoring in Environmental Studies and Political Science. I'm joining the Seaside team because I'm super-interested in assisting with grant writing, researching and designing sustainability curriculum, local citizen science efforts, and expanding efforts to minimize plastic and other waste.
I am from China and I am a graduate student in Global Sustainability at the University of South Florida. My major is entrepreneurship. I am very passionate about travel and hope to contribute to the sustainable development of the environment through the knowledge I have learned. I was a rising college sophomore interested in business, writing, and marketing. I was previously a community engagement intern at the Boston 2024 Partnership and have also worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor for the past five years. I was attracted to Seaside because of its unique mission and purpose and the prospect of working for a small, young firm dedicated to systemic change surrounding environmental issues.
I was especially enthusiastic about this internship and hoped to work on environmental projects that focus on providing resources and solutions on environmental degradation. I am also passionate about finding solutions that can reduce the environmental impact in business activity and the global economy.

As a biology major whose focus is on positively impacting environmentalism from the bottom up, I have been deeply invested in Seaside's cause. I received invaluable hands on experience working with Seaside, and gained the insight necessary for executing effective community-based projects. Therefore, it was an easy choice to want to become involved with Seaside, as they are committed, energetic, and up for the task.
I was currently undecided on a major but is interested in studying Biology with a minor in Environmental Sciences. I wanted to intern for Seaside Sustainability because it provided an opportunity to not only help local communities, but gain valuable knowledge and skills that I can use in the future if I choose to pursue an environmental-focused path.

I am a master student and very interested in any design work related to education. This internship enabled me to gain practical experiences, enhance communication skills and practice design on a website template for the organization's new projects. I am so happy for a chance to get involved.
I am currently in my sophomore year in high school, and have a strong passion for environmental science and biology. I am interested in studying these topics in more depth, and Seaside Sustainability gives me the opportunity to make an impact on my community while gaining more knowledge. As I continue to learn more about sustainable practices and the environment throughout high school, I appreciate that I can also extend my learning by contributing to an organization.
I am a rising sophomore planning to study Business with a concentration in Marketing at UVA. I was drawn to Seaside Sustainability for its dedication to sustainability and environmental issues, a pressing cause that I feel strongly about. I am excited about the opportunity to gain experience in the marketing field while supporting sustainability throughout local communities, and making a positive impact on my community.
I was interested in pursuing a career in which my personal passions intersect with my professional expertise. As a Business major, I found that working at Seaside Sustainability provided me with a platform in which I could gain experience with multiple components of a business.

I wanted to apply this knowledge by completing an internship in this field; for this reason, I chose to work for Seaside Sustainability as the Social Media and Marketing Coordinator.
I majored in Sustainability studies at Stony Brook University. I recently completed an internship with Health Equity Initiative. I chose to work with Seaside because of their mission. Societal ignorance towards the environment is an important component is the basis for many sustainability issues, and I hope to contribute to Seaside's efforts towards achieving environmental impact.
I am currently a junior at Gordon College majoring in Communication Arts and minoring in Business Administration. Interning for Seaside has provided me an opportunity to combine my passion towards saving our oceans and environment, with my love for Communications and Business.
I am a sophomore at Endicott College studying a dual major in Business Marketing and Management. Growing up in a coastal town I have spent many hours outside and on her boat. I have always been passionate about environmental work and have spent many hours volunteering my time to work on sustainable efforts.
To me, Seaside is a great organization that has very influential leaders with many ideas on how to change the world also. For me, it was a terrific opportunity to work with Seaside Sustainability and see how a successful organization grows. So far, I had nothing but amazing experiences with them and many doors have opened for me.
I was originally from China and have been staying in the United States for about 6 years, obtaining a bachelor degree of Business Administration from Chaminade University of Honolulu. I have been growing great interest in sustainability while she had her biology lab and field trip during my university study. I decided to go further as starting my master degree in Global Sustainability in University of South Florida, and I will receive my degree soon in May 2018.
I am a junior at Boston University majoring in journalism and minoring in Earth and Environmental Science. I chose Seaside because I wanted to meet and work with like-minded people who are all focused on the same goal: saving and protecting our planet.
I am currently a high school senior and live in Essex Massachusetts. I am very interested in the subject of sustainability. I believe Seaside Sustainability is an amazing opportunity to get involved locally, and to help inform others on the current rising problems within our community.
I am currently a graduate student of University of South Florida, and major in Global Sustainability, concentrating in entrepreneurship, Seaside Sustainability, Inc. is the organization that I can involve in the real business world, as well as write business and marketing plan for specific programs, while learning more about sustainability. I am really looking forward to having the opportunity to work as an intern in Seaside Sustainability.
As I majored in Political Science at Cairo University while an undergraduate, I managed over the last few years to research different political, social and humanitarian topics. Working with displaced humans, doing research on the educational, agricultural, environmental and health policies for my country and abroad. I managed to add to this experience some marketing, liaison and donors’ communication work.
