Seaside welcomes and relies on volunteers, both site-based and remote, to support our work. 

Current Opportunities

Volunteer 

Seaside is seeking energetic volunteers and volunteer coordinators to join our extensive in-person and virtual teams. Volunteers are asked to help in a wide range of actions and activities supporting our many departments working directly with our Advisors, interns and staff. We do not require a time commitment for volunteers and enjoy matching volunteers with their strengths and interests. 

As a Volunteer your responsibilities desired characteristics include:
 

  • Completing tasks assigned by supervisors

  • Upholding the organization’s values

  • Maintaining a high degree of professionalism with all stakeholders

  • Required to arrive on time, follow instructions, and improve the overall operations of Seaside

  • Outstanding Volunteers should be diligent, meticulous, and take pride in their work

  • Completion of relevant training, willingness to learn and work as part of a team

  • A high degree of professionalism and the ability to follow instructions

  • Respect and diligence

  • Good time management and reliable transport if working in-person and reliable internet connecting if working virtually 

  • A personable manner

Volunteer Coordinator

Our Volunteer Coordinator(s) work(s) directly Advisors, interns and staff on a myriad of actions including: recruiting and managing groups of volunteers and individual members, delegating responsibilities, and training selected people for future positions. Coordinators must have strong communication and management skills since the Coordinators must work with many different kinds of people. Coordinators complete organizational and management tasks that support the efforts of a variety of projects, campaigns or events.

As a Volunteer Coordinator your responsibilities desired characteristics include:

  • Communicating with members about projects, events, and expectations and goals​​

  • Delegating tasks to appropriate team members

  • Managing deadlines and progress across the team to ensure execution

  • Overseeing the delivery of projects, events or campaigns and making adjustments as necessary to ensure they are delivered to specifications and high standards

  • Collecting and analyzing feedback from members to gauge satisfaction and success

  • Source and recruit volunteers

  • Good communication with people of all walks of life

  • Leadership skills, experience coordinating events and people

  • A strong desire to help others
