You may have heard of microplastics, you may even have an idea of what they are, but do you really have an understanding of what they’re doing to your body? Fortunately, Cape Ann Community Cinema is hosting a series of film screenings featuring Ben Addelman’s Plastic People documentary in 2026! Join in to watch the documentary and participate in a facilitated discussion on January 4th and 18th or stay tuned for the announcement of their April dates!
The award-winning documentary “investigates our addiction to plastic and the growing threat of microplastics on human health.” As evidence of microplastics moves from our environment into our organs and fetuses, it's becoming clear that the time to understand the health impacts of these pollutants is here. Throughout the film author and science journalist Ziya Tong attempts to do just that, traveling the world, speaking to experts, and undergoing experiments in an attempt to uncover the reality of our plastic problem.
