Seaside Sustainability's Virtual Holiday Art Auction: November 16-22

Seaside Sustainability will be hosting a Virtual Holiday Auction from November 16-22nd on our Instagram page, @artauction4ourocean. Seaside Sustainability often works with artists on a local scale to further our message. In our Holiday Auction, we expanded our scope to the national level. The artists we are working with are sustainability-focused, ocean enthusiasts, and so much more.

Jocelyn Koury, @jocelynsdesigns, is one of these artists. Her primary media are crochet and fiber art. She is a 22-year old entrepreneur from Mansfield, MA who has always had a passion for creating art in all different mediums. She used the skills she acquired while going to business school for marketing to launch her very own small business. Sustainability is a core part of her identity, and all of the items in her shop are packaged and shipped as eco-consciously as possible. When you purchase from her, whether it be at the auction or from her store, you can be sure that you are doing your part for the planet. She also only uses cruelty-free materials: no wool, silk, or other animal fibers! Make sure to keep an eye out on @artauction4ourocean to see what amazing work she has come up with!

Here is one of Jocelyn’s featured pieces.

Anna Gaskill, @overthegunnels, is another environmentally-conscious artist participating in our auction. After studying environmental studies and art at Wellesley College, she worked in environmental education on the west coast. After that, she moved to Massachusetts to work as a fisheries observer. The intense exposure to the natural world through her environmental science career has inspired much of her artwork. Her primary media are linoleum block printing, oils, and watercolor. She incorporates the intensity, serenity and even the humor revealed in nature in her artwork. Stay tuned to our Instagram to see the breathtaking pieces she has come up with!

In order to make the art pieces yours, simply comment your bid on the individual post of the artwork you wish to buy between November 16-22. The highest bid wins! We are delighted to once again be able to bring Seaside Sustainability’s community together to celebrate sustainability, ocean conservation, and art despite the remote world we are currently living in. Be sure to take a look at @artauction4ourocean and see what piece you want to bid on.
