This week we will be featuring Lauren DeLorenzo as our intern spotlight!
Lauren is from Melbourne, Australia and recently graduated from Ball State University with a dual degree in Journalism and Telecommunications. In her free time, she enjoys taking her dog for walks, reading, and playing the guitar very badly. Having grown up on the coast, Lauren has always been interested in ensuring that our oceans and beaches are protected. At Seaside Sustainability, Lauren hopes to help protect oceans and natural environments so they can be enjoyed by future generations.
She joined Seaside Sustainability because the internship program would further her personal and professional goals. Lauren is invested in how words can be an important vehicle for social change, and she felt that Seaside Sustainability would provide an excellent opportunity to sharpen her existing skills while also learning new ones. Lauren is thrilled to have the opportunity to work remotely and create positive, environmental change in a community on the other side of the globe.
Lauren works as the Newsletter Lead and Analytics Lead on the Marketing Team, and has really enjoyed creating the newsletter content and delving into analytics to help track the success of the team. Lauren loves working at Seaside Sustainability because she enjoys connecting with driven, talented interns who are passionate about promoting sustainable practices and creating healthier waterways in coastal communities. Having been inspired by the team at Seaside Sustainability, Lauren plans to seek out more opportunities to volunteer with environmental non-profits in the future. She is especially interested in writing more about the intersection between environmentalism and social equality, and working with others to implement holistic and practical solutions.
